Retro rooms: 1970s blue and yellow dining room

Who says paint can't solve the boring-room blues? You didn't hear it here. The caption in this mid-1970s dining room reads

"This optical illusion alcove is made by painting stripes on walls and ceiling. The far wall, in a receding hue, gives the illusion of infinite space."

Infinite space? Probably not, but it does say "Hey, look at me. Isn't this pretty awesome?"

I am not personally a fan of blue and yellow together, but this room proves that anything can work if you do it well.
