| Tubby Time Time Treats
Here are a few simple recipes for bath-time gifts . Use them yourself, or wrap them in beautiful bottles and give to friends.
Simple Bath Salts.
~1 cup salt
~1 cup epsom salts
~1 cup baking soda
~ Several drops essential oil
To add color, use 1/8 tbs. past food coloring.
Mix all ingredients together and place in decorative jar or bottle as a gift. Include a high-quality measuring spoon and instruction card , tied around the neck of the container with ribbon or raffia. Instructions: Add 2-3 heaping tablespoons to warm running bath water. Relax!
Powdered Milk Bath
~ Dry milk
~ Scented oil -perfume oil or essential oil
Mix 1 cup of dry milk with 5-8 drops of oil. Mix well. Add more oil for a stronger scent. Place in a jar, or in a packet-shaped envelope made from high-quality paper. Instructions: add to running bath water.
Herbal Tub Tea
Aromatherapy tub tea is a gift with longevity: when it's stored in a high-quality container with a strong seal, it will remain fragrant for a year.
~Mesh ball/tea infuser (usually used for tea)
~Herbs
~Oatmeal (use 1 cup for every 4 cups of herbs)
~Essential oils
~Mixing bowl
~Decorative glass jar with secure lid
~Parchment paper
~Raffia
~Pen
1. Combine herbs, essential oils and oatmeal in a mixing bowl and mix well.
2. Pour mixture into decorative glass jar and seal well.
3.Make a tag with the following instructions: "Use tea ball to scoop out contents. Close ball tightly and toss into hot bath. Allow to steep 3 to 5 minutes before removing."
4. Use raffia to attach tag and mesh tea infuser to jar.
* You can prepackage several baths in unbleached cotton tea bags, instead of using an infuser ....
Some guidelines for selecting herbs and essential oils:
Soothing
one or more of the following: catnip, chamomile, comfrey, evening primrose flowers, jasmine, juniper berries, lemon balm, mullein and violet leaves (and/or flowers), rose or rose geranium leaves.
Stimulating, use one or more of the following: basil, bay, pine, mint, lavender, sage, rosemary, thyme, or calendula flowers.
Stress Relieving
lavender, rose, lemon balm.
