| Since early childhood, I wanted to grow up to be a DJ. After attending a really good party at Oracle Records in Gainesville,FL in 1997. I decided to follow through with that dream. I bought my own equipment and dedicated my life to music. Being female actually helps me, because there aren't that many female DJs. The only bad thing is that there are some people who automatically think that girls don't belong behind the decks. I don't feel like I've had all of the success I deserve. Not yet, but my rewards are getting Bigger and Better as time goes on. My premier mix CD compilation, "The Perfect Trance" is Neurodisc Records' top selling album and it hit the top 40 on the Sound Scan charts. As for original music, I have a new track titled "Ocean of Love" and it's produced with Miss Shiva. The next projects for me include my new release "The Perfect Trance 2.0" coming out in May 2003 on Neurodisc, and my new track "Fix." What are you hobbies/passions besides music? I love to write. Currently,I'm writing about my adventures on the road and posting the entries in My road diary on my site. I also love cartoons, cooking, traveling, fashion, fine dining, the beach, and making people laugh. The first and worst job I ever had was to conduct surveys about vacuum cleaners over the phone. Is there any story you can tell us about someone who didn't like having you--a girl-- behind the decks? I don't have any horror stories on that one, but I have a couple that were rather annoying. I come up with good ideas all the time, but in bits and pieces. I write them all down and build on them later. It's harder for me to have to sit down and come up with an idea right then What is the worst thing that has ever happened ot you professionally? Business was bad after September 11,2001. A lot of bookings cancelled on me. The worse part was that the mix CD compilation that I was going to release on my own ("Live @ Trancedomain") lost its distribution deal because of how bad the ecomony got. It put a damper on my career for a time, but now things are even better than before. |
